One Little Indian

In preparation for Thanksgiving, JuJu's kindergarten class learned about Native Americans last week.  On Friday, all the parents were invited to come back and assist in the class festivities of making dream catchers, wampum, headdresses, rain sticks and getting their faces painted.  It was an "out of uniform day" for kindergarten so they could dress up like Indians.

I had forgotten about it.

School starts at noon, and around 10:30 AM I remembered that if she showed up in uniform, she'd be the only one.  Due to the more hot pink princess nature of her dress up closet and the lack of Indian dress, I was slightly panicky.  But with a too-large tan t-shirt, some scrap jersey fabric, and some colorful felt, we decked Lil Bit out.  And even I have to admit, she looked pretty spectacular.

Cutest Little Indian I ever did see, even if she is a little shy.

This week, we're learning about pilgrims.  It's cool if she just wears a black dress and an apron right? Good.

You are the best. mom. ever. Seriously. Even if you only remembered a couple hours before- YOU GOT IT DONE. A lot of moms would have likely blown it off so late in the game. Not only did you get it done, you did it awesome. My poor future kids... who knows what they'll get from me.

PS: Facebook msg me your address. My husband is bothering me about this pile of shoes in the corner of our room, and why I haven't mailed it, so finally he said, "JUST GET ME AN ADDRESS," (he didn't actually yell... that's my added emphasis on how much he wants to get rid of them). So if you send me an address, you might get a lovely prize of some shoes in the mail sometime sooner rather than later. : )
