...Horticulture

I grew up working the soil.  Now that I'm an adult, I miss the noisy tractor rides and the knowledge of an honest day's work.  So I started a family garden, right here in my suburban backyard.

Last summer we planted tomatoes, eggplant, jalapenos, squash, and lots of herbs.
Last summer, we used lots of herbs, ate a couple of tomatoes and didn't share nearly enough of our jalapenos.

I'm a "organic when it's gonna work/spray the buggards if you have to" gardener.  I'm certainly not an experienced gardener.  I don't do the raised bed thing.  It's just me, my clay soil with it's millions of rocks, and God (and some seeds.  you gotta have seeds!)  We make it work any way we can.

It's a new year and I've got big plans for my little garden.  You can read more about it over at The Play Garden.
